Agility Classes

Advanced agility course run-thrus (course Practice)

These sessions are designed for handlers and dogs who are working on agility titles. The sessions are usually 60 to 90 minutes and include full course runs at various levels of competition. Prerequisites for this class include the ability for the dog to work off leash and a full working knowledge of all the agility obstacles. This is not a beginner class. Non-members can participate by paying a $10 drop in fee per session.

Competetive Agility Foundations

These sessions are for dog and handler teams that are familiar with all the obstacles that make up an agiltiy course. Extra work will be done to fine tune handling skills, contacts, speed, and begin to run sequences. Handlers will need to run along with their dog in this class.

Agility Beginnings

An introduction to the obstacles that are part of the sport of agility. Fundamentals and basic handling skills are introduced. Focus between the dog and handler will be developed. This class is taught on a positive reward system using treats or toys to reward the dogs for correct behaviour.

Puppy Kindergarden - This class is for any puppy over the age of 12 weeks and under 4 months. Pups should have already had the full series of puppy shots. This is to protect your dog from disease. This class will stress handling and social skills for your puppy. Pups have a very short attention span at this age so classes will be fun and fast moving. The suggested equipment for the first class is a buckle collar or harness and a leather or nylon leash. Please - no retractable or "flexi" leashes for class.

Obedience Level 2 - This class is for dogs and handlers who have completed a Level 1 class. Dogs should know how to walk on a leash, sit & stay, down & stay, and be of dependable temperament with other dogs and people. Off leash training will be worked on as class progresses.

Advanced Obedience = Fun & Games - This class is for dogs and handlers who can work reliably off leash. The group will fine tune skills learned in Levels 1 & 2 as well as play games, do specific tasks, run relay races, and other advanced activities.

Rally O - This class is to help dog/handler teams prepare for Rally Obedience trials and matches. This is an advanced and specialized class that is lots of fun.
